InsulSafe® is the premier loose-fill insulation product in the world. CertainTeed originally developed InsulSafe to meet the needs of the energy crisis of the 1970s. It has more R-Value per pound than any loose-fill product and quickly became widely accepted as the premier attic insulation. InsulSafe is also ideal for sidewall retrofit applications and has been widely used for years in the Blow-In-Blanket® System (BIBS).

BIBS® is a patented process that blows insulation into building cavities. BIBS gives a home a custom designed, seamless thermally efficient, sound reducing blanket that completely fills any cavity, leaving no voids. It has been known as the best insulation system available. Now, with the Optima fiber, the Optima system becomes the optimum in BIBS.
The optima fiber is the latest development in the InsulSafe family. It was specially designed for closed-cavity applications and does not require adhesive. Optima is also designed to be installed using any CertainTeed recommended blowing machine, but must be installed behind special Optima fabric helps reduce fiber fly and dust which ultimately reduces clean-up requirements. CertainTeed recommends that staples rather than glue be used when installing the fabric. Optima is not appropriate for open-blow application.
